The box may say “Grafs & Sons,” but its contents aren’t handloaded or old WWII military surplus. This is Hornady’s fine work, and the very same 7.65x53 Argentine ammunition they would otherwise have marketed under their Custom label.

This ammunition gives you the option of hunting medium game with your Mauser Model 1889, 1890, 1891, and so on. It is loaded with a soft point projectile, which widens and tumbles and otherwise behaves very lethally upon punching through a whitetail or other critter’s hide. Its 150 grain weight and spitzer shape give the SP reasonably close ballistic performance to the 10.0 gram (154.3 grain) ball load of yesteryear.

Once again, this *is not* old military ammunition. Hornady manufactured it recently, and chose their finest reloadable brass cases and snapfire noncorrosive Boxer primers for the job.
