The Versatite wad does the patterning, and usually patterns best with an Improved Cylinder or Modified choke. The Versatite wad strips CLEANLY from the pellets in flight without disrupting them - this keeps the pellets together in flight for a shorter shot string that delivers more collective energy on impact. Was looking for a good defensive round for the house, that left fewer gaps in the pattern. Remington 870,18 1/2' barrel, cylinder bore, you would expect wide open patterns. Not so with this round, nice tight patterns with no gaps in coverage, due to the wad design. Good video online where they are tested in ballistic gelatin at different ranges. Very impressive load to say the least.
