“Ten bullets through one hole?? is the philosophy that brought Hornady Manufacturing from a two-man operation in 1949, to a world-leading innovator of bullet, ammunition, reloading tool and accessory design and manufacture today. Hornady outperforms their competitors by ensuring the products they make are what the customers want right now, and then accurately predict and manufacture what they’ll want and need in the future.
Hornady offers the same Flex Tip technology for handguns that revolutionized lever guns. Typical hollow point pistol bullets deliver good performance at modest velocities, but have a tendency to expand too quickly and sacrifice penetration at the higher velocities achieved with lever action rifles. Hornady FTX bullets achieve reliable expansion over a wide range of velocities. Upon impact, the patented FTX tip is compressed into the front of the bullet, causing the bullet to expand and transfer immediate energy for a devastating temporary cavity-even at low velocity.

This cartridge is scary p
This cartridge is scary powerful out of my 6.5' S&W .500. They are also pretty expensive for the price per round. When you research factory loaded .500 ammo, you will see that this particular cartridge at 300 grains and being pushed at the velocity listed produces more energy than 99% of the other factory loads. If you have one of these in the tube and you pull the trigger, prepare yourself for all hell to break loose!! If you can manage the recoil, the cartridge is consistently accurate.

Great stuff. More accurat
Great stuff. More accurate than BVAC at 50 yrds, but alas more expensive also. It is strange that the Hornady shot a little lower than the BVAC, maybe it was me. Will use for upcoming deer season.

Outstanding ammunition.
Outstanding ammunition. If you want to see how this ammo promptly dispatches a 1,300 pound buffalo/bison go to youtube and type in: S&W 500 Magnum Buffalo. Tremendous and powerful load.

This is my far the best s
This is my far the best shells I have ever put through my 4inch 500 Smith and Wesson, I have not tried many other but I fell there is no need to once you find a round you like and love, the shell itself just looks wicked right out of the box, this ammo will blow the heck out of most anything, you should own a 500 Smith if you are checking out the ammo, but if you don't you should get one, the gun rocks.
