The revolutionary Hornady FTX bullet was created specifically to provide better ballistics in firearms with tube magazines. Utilizing the Hornady Flex Tip, these bullets are safe for use in tube magazines thanks to their flexible nature, eliminating the risk of pointed bullets setting off primers, and providing flatter trajectories than ever before.

The Flex Tip design makes the FTX safe in all tubular magazines and delivers controlled expansion across a broad range of velocities. The FTX also delivers the flattest trajectories EVER from lever guns.

I am not the worlds great
I am not the worlds greatest shot, nor am i the worlds foremost expert on reloading. But I know my guns and can hold my own when talking about them. I loaded the 200gr .45acp FTX with 8.3, 8.5, and 8.9 grains of ramshot trueblue powder and magnum primers. all of my groups were inside a coffee cup at 25 yards and inside a dollar bill at 50 yards. The only exception was the 8.9 loads were a little harder to control and I dropped a couple outside my group at both 25 and 50 yards. 8.9 grains was a little hot and flattened the primers and left some distinct ejector marks. I am sticking with the 8.5 grain loads cause they were the best group and didn't any noticeable drop at 50 yards and were the best groups. I have shot the speer 200 grain hollow point for quite some time and the FTX are the most accurate i have ever been. my groups moved up about 2 inches at 25 yards and 3 at 50 yards over my old ammo. I shoot a Ruger P97 with stock sights.
