The new XB-52DL is the perfect balance between weight, load capacity, and super low-profile height. These ball head specs are unmatched. We made the XB-44 even shorter, by machining off the neck of the ball head (creating the proprietary GNN series). This reduces damaging stress/leverage to internal parts, increases stability, yet still allows for 24° of elevation adjustment, with approximately 50° of total vertical travel. The Sunwayfoto XB-52DL Low-Profile Ball Head with Duo-lever Clamp is based on the original XB-52, and we replaced the Screw-Knob Clamp with DLC-60 Screw/Lever Combo Clamp. The screw knob side is for adjusting the width of the clamp, and the lever side is for locking the clamp quickly. The XB-52DL Low Profile Ball Head from Sunwayfoto is the larger of two ball heads in the XB line of low profile ball heads from Sunwayfoto. It features a very low center of gravity, a very high load capacity of 132 pounds, and an improved ball head design for smoother movements when changing tripod shooting position.

What is different about the GNN vs the standard XB?

All of our Hog Saddle Sunwayfoto mounts end in 'GNN', so I am not sure what the difference between the standard XB and the XB you are looking at. However, there are differences between the FB and the XB. The XB has a built in level that you can view with a larger item, such as a rifle is in the mount and it has a QD lever to remove items quickly.
