The top 15% is bismuth shot of the same size. It is 1.8 g/cc denser than steel, and accordingly hits its target with much greater kinetic energy at the same range as the rest of the shell’s shot!

This shell features a high-brass reloadable hull, full-length wad that prevents the shot from making contact with the bore, and a primer and specially formulated propellant charge which don’t flounder during low-temperature ignition.
