This is a conventional range load that doesn’t hold any surprises in store. Its 147 grain full metal jacket projectile contains a lead-antimony alloy core, copper-zinc alloy jacket, and no steel or other metals that can attract a magnet. Its new, visibly annealed brass case is reloadable and outfitted with a noncorrosive, nonmercurial Boxer primer.

GGG recorded this round’s muzzle velocity with a 22.36” 1:12” test barrel. Upon exiting the barrel at a rate of 2,700 fps, the .401 G1 BC bullet can be expected to hit 200 yards with 1,681 ft lbs striking energy, and subsequently drop -8.87” at 300 yards (with 1.5” sight height). Comparable (but not identical) ballistic performance to 7.62 NATO M80 ball!
