Is this holster open ended? If it is open ended how much of the barrel is covered? I would buy this if it is open ended because then it can fit any size barrel.

This holster is designed to fit/cover a 3" barrel. The holster is open at the muzzle end, so this will accommodate longer barrels, but the barrel will extend past the end of the holster.
