The Franklin Armory DFM AR-15 Bolt Catch is specifically designed for use with DFM magazines and together will bring your modern sporting rifle into compliance with state regulations. The DFM magazine converts your AR platform rifle to a fixed magazine design required by some more restrictive states. This requires disassembly of the action to remove the magazine by tilting the upper receiver out of the way and removing the mag from the top of the lower receiver. Franklin Armory's DFM Bolt Catch is designed for easy installation of the DFM magazine. A standard AR-15 bolt catch includes a protrusion for the follower that locks the bolt open when the mag is empty. This protrusion blocks easy reloading or removal and installation of the magazine. The DFM Bolt catch lacks this protrusion facilitating reloading or mag removal and reinstallation without having to remove the bolt catch.
Please Note:
This installation removes the "last round bolt hold open" capability of your rifle.
