Great ammo! Accurate and clean burning. Shoots beautifully in my Webley Mk IVs!

Good Ammo in hard-to-find FMJ, for vintage 38-short round.
For those who have a S&W Terrier revolver in cal 38 S&W (short), Fiocchi seems to be the only modern maker of FMJ ammo in that cal -- the other choices are almost all Lead Round Nose. One good exception: Buffalo Bore offers a hard-cast-lead flat nose in 38 short. Fiocci is good ammo, so I am glad to grab a few boxes of their 38 S&W (short) FMJ when I can find it on sale. Even on sale it's not cheap, law of supply and demand, and this vintage 38 cal round is not a high-demand item.

Jacketed Ammunition When Lead Typical in this Caliber
My sons and I have fired these from a 1922 Colt Police Positive with 4 inch barrel. The Fiochi loads have very mild recoil. Jackets mean less scrubbing of your barrel afterwards. There are claims on internet sources that a jacketed round is more likely to lodge in the barrel since they are slow moving to begin with...but we have observed no problems. Have purchased and shot these multiple times. Also found these more accurate than many other 38 S & W offerings. These are not about power...but about placement!

Have a question about this?

This will be displayed next to your question.

Is this the proper ammunition for a .38 Smith and Wesson Victory revolver?
Answer: Yes it is.
My Smith & Wesson barrel is stamped "38 S&W SPL.+P" -- will this work for me?
Answer: No, you will need 38 special
I have an old S and W 2inch barrel Chiefs special revolver. I know it takes short 38s. I thought it was 119 grain. Is this the correct ammo?
Answer: All Chiefs Specials are chambered in .38 Special, not Short, but S&W revolvers have the cartridge written on the barrel. Make sure to purchase matching ammo to what is written on the gun. A S&W that shoots this Fiocchi ammo would be marked "38 S.&W. CTG" or similar.
Is this the same as .38/200?
Answer: .38/200 was a specific British military cartridge based off of the .38 S&W that used a 200 grain bullet and this has a 145 grain bullet, so they are not the same. However, this is compatible with revolvers chambered in .38/200.
