The Federal Premium TruBall rifled slug system is capable of taking the five-shot 4.5-inch spread of conventional smoothbore slugs and shrinking it to 1.4 inch at 50 yards. The Deep Penetrator projectile's higher antimony lead ensures better terminal performance.

Federal's Vital-Shok 12 gauge 2.75" shell fires a 1 ounce rifled slug at 1350 fps, making it a good choice for animals with tough hide and bone, such as hogs, deer and bear. The low-recoil rounds are favorable even for youth hunters. It's also a great choice for home defense.

TruBall Deep Penetrator cartridges contain a plastic ball between the wad and slug to center the slug in the barrel, as well as a harder (higher antimony) lead than the standard TruBall. Now you can upgrade your power without changing barrels or sacrificing accuracy.
