The box says “Law Enforcement,” but make no mistake. If you’re a regular guy or gal, then there’s nothing stopping you from using the same outstanding 12 Gauge 00 buck ammo for home defense that cops would rely on out in the field.

This shell is loaded with nine pellets of 00 buck (as opposed to eight). Its muzzle velocity could have been higher (Federal also offers this particular shell with a 1,325 fps muzzle velocity), but you know what? At 1,145 fps, this shell’s MV makes it more than potent enough to neutralize the threat at close range. You just won’t have to deal with as much recoil and muzzle flip while firing it.

This shell’s shot pellets are stored inside Federal’s FliteControl wad. It actually remains with the shot following expulsion from the muzzle, and only detaches once its rear brake petals kick into action after about 3 yards have passed. It’s an effective system which makes this shell one of (if not *the*) tightest-patterning double-aught loads on the market. Perfect for when your only objective is to put as many holes into the target as possible.

This premium Minnesota-made police-grade ammo ain’t just for defending. Take it out into the wilds when you feel like hunting instead!
