Inconsistency leads to inaccuracy.
I put up 10) 5 shot groups at 50 yds from a rest. The shots had varying sound characteristics. Some were even sub-sonic, no crack. When I got 5 rounds on the same bullseye that all sounded the same it was a very accurate round; 1/2" or less on 2 groups but the other 8 were well over an inch and some coming close to 1.5". I expected better of Federal; a little better quality control would make this a great round. Their Gold medal match .22 lr did a great job but I prefer a hollow point. My primary use for a .22 is hunting small game and if I cannot hit a golf ball every shot at 75 yds then it's not field worthy.
