Guys, not totally knowledgeable about shotgun ammo, this is considered a Rifled Slug, do you need a rifled barrel? If not will it do any damage to the straight barrel? Thanks
Answer:
Hi John! This ammo is indeed loaded with a rifled slug. Here's the rule, counterintuitive though it may seem: rifled slug for smoothbore barrel; sabot slug for rifled barrel. Firing a rifled slug in a rifled barrel can damage the barrel – not recommended. A sabot slug will not damage a smoothbore barrel, but its accuracy would be atrocious without rifling to stabilize it.
