I purchased a Savage 301 Turkey 410. With the stock choke this round did a number out to 50 yards for sure and I am confident that far. I had a guide told me with the Carson TSS Choke Tube a man rolled up a bird at 60 yards with the set up. He stated he ranged the bird and witnessed it. Based on my findings I believe every word. I'm not one who wants to take turkeys that far but the question here is can I? I believe I can. Good luck! 410 gauge has found a new home!! Good luck

Is the .410 becoming the 30/30 of turkey gun's now? One speculate that the recoil of the 3" 12 gauge turkey loads is just too unbearable.

Not that I'm aware of. Most people buying .410 turkey loads are usually taking kids turkey hunting.
