This round’s 300 grain solid copper sabot slug may be somewhat unusual, but it supplies all the accuracy and anchoring power you need for success this hunting season.

If fired through a smoothbore barrel, this shell’s sabot slug will be horribly inaccurate. But if fired through the rifled bore barrel it’s designed for, the aerodynamic (.187 G1 BC) polymer tipped slug will deliver a flat and consistent trajectory. Federal promises that this ammo can group 4 inches at 200 yards.

It kills, too. The Freight Train Copper slug’s polymer tip is nestled in a deep nose cavity, the surface of which is strategically skived. Impact easily splits the cavity open and spreads it apart, even at 100+ yard striking velocities. Copper is tougher than lead, which promotes the deeper penetration that’s needed to take larger whitetail, black bear and hog specimens.
