This round’s bullet couldn’t possibly be considered to be anything fancy. As a full metal jacket, it’s designed to feed smoothly, minimize lead fouling of the barrel, and hold a predictable trajectory to its intended target. Federal measured the 180 grain FMJ’s 1,200 fps muzzle velocity and 996 fps 100-yard velocity with a 5” barrel. Based on that data, we estimate its trajectory to look approximately like this: 0yds: -0.2” → 25yds: 0.8” → 50yds: 0.0” → 75yds: -2.6” → 100yds: -7.2”.
