This cartridge’s full metal jacket is manufactured more economically than usual. The 95 grain bullet’s lead core has a plated jacket, which is relatively thinner (and therefore contains less pricey copper). The plated FMJ comes with a caveat, though. If your pistol has a ported barrel or recoil compensator, then you *do not* want to fire plated bullets through it.

Federal recorded this round’s 980 fps muzzle velocity with a 3-3/4” test barrel. That’s pretty typical of an analogous 95 grain defense load, so you’ll enjoy performance that comes pretty close to the ammo you’re training to wield effectively.
