The .32 H&R Magnum – or .32 Magnum, if you’re trying to save time – is one of Federal Premium’s multiple attempts at breaking into the magnum market. It didn’t become quite as popular as they hoped, but here we are over 40 years later still selling the Minnesotan company’s own American Eagle loads. That’s success in our book!

These cartridges are loaded with jacketed soft points – a type of bullet commonly utilized for hunting and defense, but which in this case ia strictly advertised as a target projectile. At 975 fps muzzle velocity (4-V test barrel), the 85 grain JSPs deliver similar recoil and ballistic performance as any analogous defense load, making this ammo a suitably instructive choice for training exercises.

Federal’s ever-popular American Eagle series cartridges are made in Anoka, MN, where they receive the virgin brass cases, dependable Federal primers, and clean-burning powder they need to play nicely with any .32 Mag revolver. Works great in lever-action rifles as well!
