This thing is great for smaller pistol safes for keeping moisture out and preventing rust off of your guns that live in the safe. You can either sit it the safe or it comes with a metal hanger. When it needs recharging, which you will know by the guide on the front, just plug it in, recharge it and put it back in the safe. Would buy again for sure!

I read the reviews and purchased it for the gun cabinet. Excellent, easy to use. clear instructions and has served well so far. I may buy a few more for the ammo storage and closets around the basement. Cost could be less $ if you look around some, but I'd rather support a company like CTD than bed, bath and beyond...

The idea behind this prod
The idea behind this product is really great. I wanted it to work very well. I think the amount of silica is just too small. I have a small 12 gun safe (live in the midwest) and the recharge indicator changes colors after about two weeks. Everything else about it works just fine, I just want something that will last longer. I will be getting a regular can of desiccant to add to this.

I have a pair of these in my gun cabinet, and they're convenient and work quite well. Every three months I take them out and plug them into an electrical outlet to recharge. Very simple. I'd buy them again.
