The EOTech series of sights revolutionized red dots forever with the unique holographic technology and a large viewing window. The 512 in particular is preferred by many Special Forces units for its large 65 MOA circle during close quarters shooting and a 1 MOA dot in the center to aim more precise shots. As an added bonus, the large circle dot arrangement is a great rangefinder in a pinch.
The combat-proven EOTech 512.A65 is powered by two AA batteries and provides over 1,000 hours of constant-on time with lithium batteries or around 600 hours with standard alkaline batteries. Since this sight takes common batteries and has a programmable automatic shut-down timer, it is much more convenient to keep your sight powered and available when you need it most.
This red dot sight easily attaches to your rifle with the included tool-free 1" picatinny mount bolt. The sturdy, lightweight aluminum design with anti-fog/anti-glare capability is ideal for when you need speed and versatility without night vision capability.

Perfect AR optic
Bought this to upgrade from a Sightmark Ultrashot M-Spec reflex sight. A huge improvement. The Ultrashot is a nice optic and has served me well for several years, but there's no comparison between it and the Eotech for quality, field of view, and non-parallax. Definitely worth the cost.

This sight is AWESOME
I wasn't sure when I ordered this sight how it would be but I was definitely not disappointed! I was curious as to wether or not I would have to worry about sight picture with thus sight like you do with irons on an AR. I threw a bore laser in to get me on paper and quickly realized that no mater where the reticle is in the optic it is still at zero. It is a little iffy out towards the edges though but definitely a lot of wiggle room. This makes target acquisition so much easier. I am very happy with it

Yes I would buy it again. I have purchased two already.
Used on an Diamondback DB-15 .223 AR pistol. Awesome setup.

Eotech 512 will not hold zero
Eotech recalled optics for failure to hold zero until Mar 2017. When using sight made in Nov 2012 this winter (Dec 2017) to sight in a AR15 it could not hold/return to zero in cold temps (worked in desert temps and more mild weather before that). It was way, way off even for shots well within 50 yds. As an active duty military member, I consider it to no longer be at all reliable. Imagine my surprise when a google search to do a RMA first returned news of a lawsuit against eotech for the exact same issue. Contacted eotech to return. Told that they ended the program when settled lawsuit (absolved legal obligation) and I should have checked their website before then. Why would I check a website to submit a repair request before I was aware I needed a repair? Why did eotech not inform their customers for years when first discovered or distro an email notifying me of their flawed design for a registered $450 product (which rep stated could not be fixed) when they were outed publically? Obviously to minimize their financial loss due to their own immoral trade practices. Since then, I have also read eotech HWS have proven unreliable for moisture issues due to nitrogen leaks they knew about when I purchased my HWS (also not fixed). Unethical business practices at best - Pick any other manufacturer if you want a reliable sight when you need it or for them to stand behind a sight they knew was flawed when sold!

Great scope for the price
Scope came looking awesome. Can be used as one whole unit or individually... Mounting on a River AR556, so should operate perfectly... Can't wait to try it this weekend...

Great, easy to use sight
This sight is great. Does exactly what it says it does. Easy target acquisition, able to easily shoot with both eyes open. Just took sighting in and it's good to go. Absolutely must-buy for the money. Pros: Easily sourced power

I bought this for my BFG-
I bought this for my BFG-50, but it cannot be zeroed in. The manufacturer blames my rifle for having too high of a picatinny rail. I would think that there should be enough adjustment built into the EOTech 512 so that it can be used on any rifle, but apparently not. Look for some other sight if you have a high rail on your rifle.

Well I received the item
Well I received the item on 12-10-14 noticed the manufacturer date of 10-28-13 no big deal, opened it up it was obviously used scratches on the rail mounting system had a lot of dust on the scope itself also the box was missing items inside, empty holes in the foam where items should be also there was dog and human hair inside the scope box itself. then i tried to turn it on and MOA circle and both red dots were fuzzy(broken)this item was broken and missing parts and used. called CTD they said ship it back for a refund but i will not be ordering from them ever again.CTD seemed unconcerned about it, to myself this was a high end purchase I'm disappointed about there lack of service and concern re-guarding this matter.

This optic is worth every
This optic is worth every penny. I've used Aimpoint in Iraq, but they are over priced compared to EoTech. 512 is by far the best deal anyone can get. It may state that it is not NV capable, but the brightness setting does lower enough to use with night vision very well. 512 has a perfect sight picture, and it nice and sharp image projected.
