Tanfoglio designed the Witness "Hunter" model after requests poured in for a true six inch barrel semi-auto pistol. The "Hunter" model is also built in the Tanfoglio custom shop, and has many of the outstanding features found in the Elite series pistols. These features include a premium 6" barrel, drilled and tapped frame for optics platform, single action trigger, checkered front and back strap, extended safety, and adjustable rear sight. The Witness "Hunter" is available in .45 ACP and .10mm. It makes a great choice for anyone who is interested in pistol hunting for small and medium sized game. Many states that allow hunting with a pistol require a minimum barrel length of 5.5 - 6". The "Hunter" is one of the few auto pistols in production that meets this requirement. Target shooters love the long sight plane system, which makes the "Hunter" model another great choice for someone who is looking for an accurate semi automatic pistol without all of the features found on race guns.

I've had this now for awh
I've had this now for awhile and it's better than I was expecting. Finish is very good. Accuracy is exceptional with many different loads and bullet selections. This pistol eats anything you put into it, and I advise getting a 22# recoil spring before you even shoot it. Reason for 4 stars is there aren't any rails to mount anything. Sights are excellent but dusk and dawn a problem seeing them.

Have now had it for awhil
Have now had it for awhile and 500 rds thru it . Finish inside and out is nice which I expected . The trigger won't take a back seat to any pistol I've ever tried and accuracy is excellent . Today at thirty yards , 4' post , tore it apart offhand . Ten of the 14 rds hit the post in a fairly rapid rate . Want pretty ? Buy something else . Want to compete with the big boys ? This will in spades ! I bought it for hunting but it's fun to shoot with the 22# recoil spring . Buy it , you won't be sorry . No rail is the only downside .

A nice feel to it and balanced very well. My neighbor can't miss with this pistol and is going to buy him one. As with my other EAA , a steel 4 1/2' Witness the recoil springs are a joke . Put a 20# or what I bought were 22# . Makes it really nice with very manageable recoil with all the hotter loads and still ejects the lighter loads (PPU).The trigger is one of the best I've shot . One other thing is it has no rail for attaching a light or lazer like my Witness 4 1/2 .Worth the price and I'd sure buy it again . Nicer than most of the higher priced pistols .

Finally received my 20 lb
Finally received my 20 lb. recoil spring so I could shoot this pistol . This pistol comes with 3 recoil springs and all are very light .Shot just 4 rds with the heaviest spring and the slide is still hammering . The 20lb helped big time but ordered a 22lb . Been shooting PPU for practice which is a light load and then tried some DT and BB today and the recoil is very light .I had two standing orders , one for a Kimber and also a Colt Delta and both came in a couple of days after purchasing the EAA . I've shot the Kimber and this is far superior . Balance is incredible and stays on target with little recoil because of the high hand placement . Finished really well . Only one mag and the sights could be better for dusk and dawn but love it so far .

Took about a month and half to get this pistol, but well worth the wait. I also tried to get a Kimber 10mm which was my first choice and after buying the Kimber came in. I took it to my range using a Caldwell rest and after cleaning it first shot three rds all touching each other at 25 yds! I had a couple of friends with their Kimbers over, both 10's . They shot it and both beat their Kimbers performance. Both remarked that the recoil was less than theirs. Ain't pretty, but it shoots and the finish is good. Three recoil springs come with it so I put in the heavy for my DT ammo. I haven't shot any other ammo and haven't shot a group like the first but very close. I have the Witness in 10mm also and it is a great shooter as well but bought this as my hunting gun.Am I happy? You bet!

My earlier review of the
My earlier review of the EAA Hunter was accurate but we used a mechanical trigger made from a Hi Nautic gear shift from a commercial fishing boat . Works great . The recoil spring is still a bit light so trading it out for a Wolfe 20lb. I was also unaware that it has a stainless barrel .
