I would go with a pump/spring type pellet gun if I had it to
Its an ok air pistol if you want to pick it up for a kid to learn gun handling. Other than that there are 2 major deal breakers I found with this item. #1 It is not very accurate. #2 it does not pack much of a punch after the first 10 shots or so (once CO2 cartridge starts to drain off). I think crosman advertised around 400fps for this gun, that's probably only true for the first couple of shots off a new CO2 cartridge, after that it falls off FAST long before the CO2 cartridge is empty. I live out in the country and I picked this up to thin out the rodent population around the house. I don't like putting poison out because I don't want to poison someone's pet by accident. That being said I want a quick clean shot on the mouse, not a bad shot that wounds them and leaves them to die a slow painful death---this gun will NOT do that because of the poor accuracy and sluggish punch once a few shots of CO2 are used. So if you want this for what I was looking for its a very bad choice. If you just want a cheap air gun to teach a kid about guns its probably ok.
