“DPX” is Corbon’s brand name for its solid copper hollow point projectile. The Ohio company tests the DPX according to the FBI’s test protocol. After passing through four layers denim and into 10% ballistic gelatin, the DPX still retains 100% of its weight. It reliably penetrates soft tissue to a depth of 12-18”, and exhibits consistent, reliable expansion.

The mechanism behind the DPX’s terminal expansion is remarkable. The copper bullet’s nose cavity is internally serrated. Each serration serves as a “break point,” which splits apart as the bullet unfurls six razor sharp cutting petals.
