The bottom portion includes 3D-machined G-10 scales which are mated to steel liners, and the upper portion is crafted from 3D-machined 6061 aluminum billet that includes an integral back spacer. For security and easy operation, the AD-15 uses a Scorpion Lock mechanism. In order to open the knife you simply engage the thumb stud until the yoke rises up and falls into a notch in the blade's tang. This mechanism uses constant spring pressure and is almost immune to failure.
