PREFECT WAY TO SAVE AMMO BY USING THE 22LR KIT. WORTH EVERY DOLLAR
GREAT ITEM, FITS PERFECTLY IN 3 DIFFERENT AR15 RIFLES. I REALLY ENJOYED THE KIT BECAUSE THE WIFE AND KIDS GET TO SHOOT IT WITHOUT HAVING FEAR OF THE RIFLE RECOIL AND NOISE.

Great Conversion Kit
My wife like to go shooting with me, but due to bad arthritis in her shoulder even the mild recoil of the 5.56 round is a bit much for her. She has a Ruger 10/22 she likes to shoot, but was wanting an AR style rifle. I built one for her, and installed this unit. Installation was a breeze, and function is perfect. Next stop is the range to see how it does. She's just not going to like it because I get to shoot it first to sight it in for her.

Excellent Investment
I purchased my first kit, (black) and while bragging about how great it worked I let a good friend talk me out of it. I purchased another in stainless. I found the stainless MUCH easier to clean! I'll be buying another for my son so he quits borrowing mine! Of the two we already have, they have been extensively used in no less than 8 mil-spec uppers. All fit and functioned flawlessly. We also tried a wide variety of ammo, from the worst to the best. NEVER a single ftf or misfire. I won't go into the plethora of advantages of using .22lr but it's not limited to saving money at the range. I'm skeptical of some of the less than perfect reviews. I'd be quick to blame a filthy chamber or other rifle issues long before putting blame on an undamaged conversion kit. The simple design, quality materials and workmanship should last multiple generations. This is an excellent investment. Pros: Multiple advantages to adding another caliber!

Fun and Cheap to Shoot
The bolt release does not function so it adds a step to mag changes. Also, I live in CA and run a Maglock and this bolt is not compatible with that system. I have to run it with a different lower than I am used to which isn't great from a training standpoint. That being said, it is fun and cheap shoot. Pros: Cheap and fun to shoot Cons: No bolt release

CMMG Rocks!!
The CMMG 22LR conversion kit looked good out of the box, and after reading the pamphlet that came with it, I cleaned, lubricated and inserted into my Radical Firearms SOCOM 5.56 upper. Unfortunately, the bolt wouldn't properly seat all the way forward. The brass chamber collar couldn't clear the chamber entrance. Obviously I wasn't going to force it, and even gentle pushing wouldn't seat it. I then tried it in my Radical Firearms 300BO upper since the cartridge chamber is identical in size, and it wouldn't seat there either. My last hope was to try it in a Stoner 5.56 upper I have, and this time it fit perfectly. So I'm not sure if it's the Radical upper or the collar on the bolt itself. I've opened a case with cmmg tech support and I guess we'll see. Out to the range w it and the CCi ammo I bought. I only bought the CCi because I could try out the high velocity as well as the subsonic from the same maker. I put a bunch of rounds downrange and it works like a champ! Out of the 100 rounds (1/2 sub & 1/2 super) there were: • NO Fail to feed • NO Fail to eject • NO Double feeds (I did shoot a few CCI Quiet 22LR and as expected, they required manual ejection due to their only being rated at 730fps.) So far this is a quality kit for a great price and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to let their AR do double duty! ********Of Note******* VERY IMPRESSED WITH CMMG SUPPORT!! I heard back from CMMG tech support and they are aware of the fitment problem with some uppers, and sent me (free) a replacement chamber adapter that they say is the fix. And it was the fix! As you can see from the photo the replacement (on right side) chamber adapter collar is stainless, not brass, and it's fixed permanently to the chamber 'pipe'. The replacement is a slightly different size, but it fit perfectly in the Radical Firearms 556 upper, and performed as expected when I fired half a dozen suppressed rounds in the backyard.

Does not fit my in my upper
It is about a quarter of an inch to long to fit in my upper. I have a mil spec 5.56 upper.

Shoot-N-Save
Fit pretty tight in the chamber. Had to persuade it in with a plastic mallet. Once installed, works great.

Perfect
Read the reviews, was convinced and bought one set, already thinking of ordering another set, so I don't have to keep changing bcg

Great Value
I've always been skeptical of conversion kits until I tried this one. So simple to install. No tools. Took less than a minute. Took it out to the range and it was instantly popular. No recoil. Very inexpensive to shoot. Highest quality components. The only caveat is similar to that shared by all semi-automatic weapons. Have patience and experiment until you find ammunition which works smoothly. They can be finicky that way. I initially tried Remington "golden bullet" hollow points which did not fire. Switched to Remington "golden bullet" solid points and they worked perfectly.
