Handguard retainer plate
The barrel is very nice and shoots good also the only thing that wasn't so great was the triangle hand guard end cap. I had to drive out the front sight pins to swap it out for a round end cap for that handguard I wanted to use and by far those were the tightest front sight pins I have drove out. I drove some out of my smith&wesson m&p in about 3-5 mins with a hammer and punch but this barrel took me 25-30 min a few bent punches and a big hammer so it's safe to say there no worry of the front sight coming lose overtime. Other then that which I knew I would have to do before I bought it, I am really happy and impressed with the quality of this cmmg barrel.

Why the micro gas block and A2 sight? What length handguard would this require?
Answer: It requires a mid length handguard, but utilizes the carbine length low profile gas block as the gas system.
Is this item easily stripped down to just the barrel? You're currently out of stock on the 12.5 CMMG barrel, which is all I need besides the gas block for my current build.
Answer: This CMMG AR-15 Barrel Assembly has taper pins holding the A2 front sight in place and those will require effort to remove. Check out item # BABL556024M
How big is the gas port?
Answer: CMMG has not listed that specification. You might be able to find out if you contact them directly.
