Functional
Not bad for the money. They look good and more importantly they function well. Load easily and no failures on feeding. I would buy these again.

Won't work in my gun
I thought Chip McMormick was supposed to be the best, seemed to be a great price for the "best." Well I bought 2, tried them in my Taurus PT1911 when I received them and they seemed ok. A couple days later I loaded the CMC magazines for a trip to the range. When I got there I inserted the first CMC mag and the slide would not release, so I tried to eject the mag and it would not eject, I could not pull it out from the bottom, I had to push my thumb through the ejection port to dislodge the magazine, then pull it out from the bottom. Same thing with the second CMC mag--very disappointed! Both mags seem to be ok empty, but will not work with ammo. If these are the "best" you can't prove it be me. I'd rate it zero stars if I could. I've returned items to CTD expecting a full refund.

I have a Kimber Pro Carry
I have a Kimber Pro Carry II. The pistol came with a 6-rd mag and that didnt seem adequate enough. These mags have fit the bill. 8 rounds and it will obviously extend past the grip about 1/3 inch. For me, a 'flush fitting' magazine sometimes does not seat correctly when reloading quickly, at times has just fallen out, unless I carefully/slowly put in a fresh mag. Sometimes i exaggerate it by using my thumb only to make sure it seats correctly. The 8-rd mag allows me to SLAM a mag in fully knowing that it will be seated without the use of a 'mag-bumper'. Plus it wont pinch me like the flush-fitting magazine. 1/3 inch is hardly a compromise for me when 2 extra rounds and seating assurance is important for reloading quickly. These mags feed FMJ/Ball and defense rounds with hollow points large enough to use as an icecream scoop flawlessly. I use Hornady Critical Defense and its never failed or jammed on me. The 6-rd mag the pistol came with didnt agree with the large hollow points for some reason. I currently own 3 of these magazines, kept them loaded for 7 months and they still kept my pistol well-fed. No jams. I have since then ordered 2 more.

I've heard a lot of good
I've heard a lot of good about CMC mags online, but never found a gun shop that carried them on the shelf. Now I know why. These have the worst followers I have ever seen.First, they don't lock the slide back, just slip past and hang above the slide stop, making them hang in the gun.Second, they rock forward after the last round and hang on the ramp, adding to the problem of hanging in the gun, aside from the damage they could do to an alloy ramp.

I am using this mag in my Rock Island GI 1911A1. My Rock feeds ball ammo perfectly even in $6 mil-spec mags I ordered from here. It also feeds Fed. HST 23 grain HP plus p's flawlessly in my other chip mccormick mag that I bought from here as well, but that one is the blued version of this mag. Never any hang ups at all with the blued one. This mag, on the other hand, has been locking the slide back during shooting even when ammo is still in the mag. It does it with both ball and HP ammo of all types. I have not had this problem with any other mags, including the cheap ones. I hope there is just a burr getting worked out, but I haven't found it yet. So far, it has done it every time I have shot with it (apprx. 10 mag loads). Probably a lemon.

Bought 2 of these for my Taurus PT1911, fit fine, nice and flush on bottom. If you try to let the slide down slowly it hangs and the round nosedives a little but let it slam down and all is good, nice mags.

Bought these for my Kimbe
Bought these for my Kimber Pro Carry HD. Drop free and function perfectly. No FTFs or FTEs. Way better than the Kimber mags.

I own several of these magazines and I HIGHLY recommend them. I have fired 450 rounds through them and have not experienced one single problem. I especially love the fact that I can easily see the ammo count through the holes in the sides of the mags. Most mags only have small holes, where as these have larger ones and one for each round. They also hold one more round than the standard 7 round mag which is great for when several zombies are trying to have you for dinner! Buy these mags. You won't regret it at all.
