The Model 1862 Richmond Percussion Musket from Chiappa is a fun replica of the original muzzleloader. It was produced in greater numbers than any other Confederate Musket from 1861 thru 1865 and part of the Richmond Virginia arsenal. This is a true reproduction of the original with a 40 inch barrel and a total length of 58 inches. A one piece forged barrel features military style sights, and three barrel bands. The Chiappa Reproduction Richmond 1862 is nicely marked exactly like the original. The lockplate is stamped 1862 to the left of the hammer and C.S. Richmond, VA to the right of the hammer. The barrel is stamped with the correct style V.P. and Eagle Head Proof marks on the breech. It features a beautiful one piece walnut oil finished stock, sling swivels riveted the same as the original, a steel trigger guard, a brass butt plate and brass nose cap.
