As a Concealed Weapons In
As a Concealed Weapons Instuctor, I purchased a set of Sightmark Bore Sights to demonstrate in my classes. I soon found that they are not even close to being accurate. I have a XDM 40 that shoots to POA, but the Sightmark indicates that it will hit about 6 inches off at 5 yards. I have never found any brand of bore sight device to be accurate. Don't waste your money on bore sights, they're just a gimmick. The only reason it gets 1 Bullet is because '0' is not an option.

Bought this to help sight
Bought this to help sight in a crimson trace on my PM40. The one I got was .40, but the total length was ALOT longer than the actual 40S&W round. I had to load it through the ejection port, and the slide did not seem to want to close completely. All the Sightmark lasers I have say they come with a battery sleeve, which I have never seen. I tape the two tiny 'watch' batteries together with a single layer of transparent desk tape and cut off the overhang with a razor. If you don't, they will not operate properly. 3 out 5 rating for the above mentioned inconveniences, otherwise it worked great. I also have one in .223 that loads via magazine feed and works flawlessly (after taping the batteries of course).

I bought a laser sight for pistol and was having problems calibrating it. I saw several different version like this bore sight, but they were for rifle round sizes. Then I happen to notice the .40 cal from sightmark and needed to give it a try.It works good, sufficiently bright. I only have 2 complaints, which is why its a 4 and not a 5 rating.1) There is no on/off switch. Once the batteries are in, its on.2) For my gun (H&K USP .40S&W) I have to load this via my ejection port instead of putting into clip.Otherwise its a great tool, esp for the price! Just one other note: I have a green laser sight on my pistol and the green dot totally overpowers the red dot on this when calibrating.I definitely recommend this to anyone using a lasersight on a gun wants to calibrate quickly and easily.
