Yugoslavian Surplus 8x57mm Mauser Ammunition Now Available by the Case

Surplus ammunition is a favorite among collectors and shooters alike for several similar but also different reasons. With either the collector or the shooter everyone is looking to get the best possible deal and surplus can easily tick that box. As a collector there is something to be said for that vintage ammo with the packaging that magically transports you back in history to the time when the ammo was first produced. While the shooter is excited to see how the pairing of vintage ammo with his vintage rifle will fair out on the range. But whatever your reasons are for purchasing surplus ammo you will be pleased with this Yugoslavian surplus ammo for sure.

This 8x57mm Mauser ammo is loaded with a 196 grain full metal jacket projectile. While we are certain the projectile contains a lead core it is unclear as to the makeup of the jacket. Sometimes this surplus ammo can have a bi-metal jacket which would mean there would be trace amounts of steel within the jacket and if your range safety officer uses a magnet to test the tip of the projectile this ammo might fail that test. Additionally the cartridge cases are made from brass however they are not reloadable since they are berdan primed. Moreover this surplus ammunition will contain corrosive powder, primers or a combination of the two. As this ammo is corrosive you should remember to clean the bore of your firearm very thoroughly after use.

The Yugoslavian surplus ammo will come packaged as 15 rounds per cardboard box, with 60 cardboard boxes per case for a total of 900 rounds of ammunition. The ammunition was manufactured in the 1950's and has been sitting in military storage ever since. This is your chance to pick up this surplus ammunition as it won't last long at these prices.
