Do you want to train with CCI’s Green Tag competition ammo – but don’t want to shovel over quite that much money? Then here’s a happy compromise: CCI Standard Velocity, which performs similarly to the match grade stuff but for a fraction of the cost.

This is your standard subsonic target load. Its 40 grain bullet weight and 1,070 fps muzzle velocity will treat you to virtually zero recoil, as well as the dull reports which are easier on the ears. The lead round nose projectile will chamber reliably in any rifle, pistol or revolver (noting that its subsonic muzzle velocity may require manual cycling of a semi-automatic).

CCI does not report the length of the test barrel they used to capture this round’s muzzle velocity, although it is presumably rifle-length. The bullet’s high .120 G1 BC promises 73 ft lbs striking energy at 100 yards. If you zero at that range throguh 1.5” high sights, then you can anticipate around -14.4” drop at 150 yards.
