Buffalo Bore Magnum ammo has all the features a hunter could want. This example, in .45-70 , is a prime choice for big game hunters. It's loaded with a 500 grain Barnes Solid Copper bullet which it fires at 1600 fps. It's an excellent round for taking down moose, bear, or buffalo.

Never use this ammo in ANY original or reproduced "Trap Door" action as the design is far too weak.

Buffalo Bore .45-70 ammunition is externally identical to SAAMI spec 45-70 ammo, but internally it generates FAR more power and pressure. So, the .45-70 ammo will fit into ANY .45-70 firearm, but is not safe in every 45-70 firearm. Its use should be limited to the following firearms: All Marlin 1895 (1895 Marlins are all Model 336 actions, chambered in .45-70) iterations made since 1972, all Browning 1885 and 1886 copies, New England Arms Handi Rifle, T/C Encore, ALL falling block actions made of modern steel such as Ruger #1 and #3, Shiloh, Christian and Persoli Sharps, all Winchester 1886 iterations made since 1915 and all Siamese Mauser bolt actions.

Answer: Buffalo Bore does not include the BFR in their list of firearms that can safely shoot this ammo.
I have an all weather 45-70 henry rifle would this ammo or any ammo you manufacture be able to be used in this rifle?
Answer: This ammo should only be used in the listed firearms. We don't manufacture ammo, we are a retailer. Pretty much any of the other .45-70 we carry should be fine in your Henry.
Can it be used in Henry Rifles?
Answer: The Henry is not included in the list of rifles Buffalo Bore says this ammo is safe in.
Are there any new lever action rifles this ammunition should not be used with. Have a Marlin Model 1895CB Cowboy Rifle 70480, 45-70 Govt, Lever, 26 in Octagon BBL. It has the trap door on the side for loading the tubular magazine, but it is a lever action
Answer: It should be used ONLY in the firearm models listed. Your 1895 is among those listed.
