Buffalo Bore supercharged this ammo with a specific goal in mind: to maximize the .338 Winchester Magnum’s penetration depth. By their own account, its 250 grain bullet pierces deeply enough to kill a one-ton buffalo – even when the shot angle is less than ideal.

The Barnes TSX is the exactly bullet to load such a cartridge with. It is solid copper – zero lead – and boasts far greater durability for that reason. Close-range impact doesn’t tear the TSX apart, so it conserves enough momentum to tunnel its way to even the largest quarry’s boiler room. The TSX’s hollow point nose cavity isn’t there for show, either. It forces the projectile to extend multiple long “cutting petals” that have exactly the effect on the quarry as you might imagine.

Buffalo Bore reports this round as having 0.425 G1 BC. In addition to the muzzle velocity on the box, they report the bullet has having 2,657 fps MV out of a Winchester Model 70 with a 22” Krieger barrel; 2,677 fps out of a Remington 700 with a 22” PAC-NOR barrel.
