CCI’s Blazer Brass ammunition is consistently some of our highest reviewed. That’s satisfying, because it’s not backed by a jazzy marketing campaign or festooned with high-tech gimmicks. It’s just simple yet extraordinarily high-quality Idaho-made ammo.

This ammo is designed for defense, though we’re certain a lot of shooters will get great mileage out of it at the pistol range. The round’s 115 grain jacketed hollow point barely breaks the sound barrier upon ripping out of a 4” barrel, at which point it proceeds across a flat trajectory until reaching its close-range target. Striking energy at 50 yards is 280 ft lbs: still plenty sufficient for self-defense, and even more effective courtesy of the JHP’s ability to follow up impact with terminal expansion.

We won’t force you to guess what a Blazer Brass round’s case is made of. We’ll just point out that it’s reloadable, and made by a company that has never used a corrosive primer or magnetic bullet in all its long history.
