The 124 grain bullet is the middleweight bullet for the 9mm, and accordingly provides an agreeable balance of smooth recoil and fast muzzle velocity. At 1,090 fps, the bullet’s velocity from a 4” barrel falls just shy of supersonic. Its report will be softer than a 115 grain bullet’s as a result.

Among civilians, the full metal jacket projectile is primarily used for target practice. It costs significantly less to manufacture than a jacketed hollow point, which makes it the economical choice for shooting where terminal expansion isn’t needed.
