CCI stuck to the tried and trusted when they designed this cartridge. Bullet weight: 230 grains. Muzzle velocity: 850 fps out of a 5” test barrel. Bullet style: jacketed hollow point, which reliably expands following close-range impact. The JHP’s design does make it less cost-effective than the FMJ which is typically favored for target shooting, although it’s not so sophisticated that firing it at the range would be wasteful.
