The jacketed hollow point is the best choice of bullet for personal defense owing to its capacity for terminal expansion (which maximizes damage to the threat whilst simultaneously minimizing risk to bystanders), but it’s also not so sophisticated that you’d have buyer’s remorse after firing it at the range.
