Great upgrade
Installed it on my model 96 that I bought in 1991. I guess I got lucky, because it only took me a couple minutes (I'm not a gunsmith). Definitely suggest watching the various videos available online as they made the swap easy. Having a decocker now on my 96 turned a great gun into a fantastic defensive firearm.

Fantastic upgrade, Huge pain to install
The G-type Beretta 92 safety is truly the only way to go. I've installed this safety on three M9 pistols to date and having a decocker-only makes a massive difference, not only in the speed of re-holstering and general ease of use, but in the confidence you have if you carry a 92-series sidearm. My EDC is an M9A1 compact and without this safety, there would be something else on my hip. So yes, definitely buy this upgrade. That being said... I have never cursed so frequently or fervently at an inanimate object in my life (other than level 98 on Candy Crush). Installing this safety requires a third hand and if you don't have some toxic waste to roll around in handy, you will be employing the deft finger manipulations of a seasoned brain surgeon to get this thing working. You'd think after three of these I'd be better but nope - and don't even get me started on detail stripping a 92 for cleaning; it's a pain to get these things OFF too. In conclusion, buy it for the 99.9% of the time you carry/use your 92 but just remember that 0.1% that'll give you a headache.
