This Barrett REC7 Gen II AR-15 is designed as a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR). It is a gas-piston operated semi automatic rifle chambered in hard-hitting 6.8 Remington SPC. It features Type III Class 2 hard-coat anodized 7075 aluminum receivers and a nickel Teflon coated full auto profile bolt carrier. The chrome-lined railed gas block has a 2-position gas plug. The rifle is equipped with a Barrett Enhanced KeyMod handguard with a full length top rail and non-rotating QD sling points. The cold hammer forged barrel is threaded and chrome lined, and equipped with a Barrett M468 Muzzle Brake.
