The Japanese did not develop the 6.5 Japanese (6.5x50mmSR Arisaka) cartridge for deer hunting. Eating venison was not at the top of their priorities between the years of 1897 and 1945. But you know what? The 6.5 Japanese makes one heck of a deer round all the same!

This cartridge’s bullet is a hefty boy: 156 grains, which gives it the momentum it needs in order to (A) buck the wind, and (B) careen into its hapless target with plenty of energy. The bullet’s round nose transfers shocking energy on impact, and then proceeds to flatten down and widen out as it inflicts a massive wound column. If the bullet passes through the quarry, then you’ll be able to see the blood trail clear as day.

Bannerman assembles this ammo in the USA – *but* its primary components are made in Serbia by Prvi Partizan. That includes its bullets, which excel at bagging game over short distances, as well as its virgin brass cases which are carefully inspected and repeatedly reloadable.
