wrong hardware!
ships with an 8-32 nut but the bolt with the sling mount is 10-32. will never mount up unless you buy a new nut, or drill out the provided nut and re-tap at 10-32. luckily, i had a 10-32 nut, so i didn't have to spend a lot of time messing around with it.

Excellent for 870
Built well, good hardware. Fit the 870 with choate tube mag extension. Bought a second one to hold a flash light, Holds securely.

I bought two of these for
I bought two of these for each 12 gauge I have and after every shot, the flash light starts to slip out of the mount. After about 7 shots the recoil from the shotgun pushes the flashlight completely out of the mount. I tightened the mount as tight as it would go and it still slipped out. I gave it two bullets instead of one because I didn't pay a lot for them so I can't expect much and it will work just fine if you only need to shoot a few shells. Which is fine for home protection but not for a long term engagement.

The ATI mag clamp works o
The ATI mag clamp works okay when used just as additional support from barrel to the mag extension. However, it doesn't work too well as a holder for a one inch diameter flashlight. Really have to overtighten in an attempt to get a secure fit.

I like this clamp because
I like this clamp because it won't mar your finish, but on every tube I have tried, this clamp spreads the barrel and tube apart to the point where serious stress occurs. I had purchased this for an ATI extension, but even that didn't work right. In fact, it spread the barrel and tube to such a degree that the tube's threads started to skip. That's not good!Clamp used on: Rem 1100 TAC2 (18.5' barrel w/ 2 shot Rem and ATI ext.)Rem 870 Tactical (18.5 barrel w/ 2 shot Rem and ATI ext.)Winchester 1300 (22' barrel w/ 3 shot Choate ext.)I ended up using the stock extensions on the Remingtons after trying the ATI, which looks better, but it flew off of my gun after 2 shots (without clamp). I noticed the aluminum threads were a bit chewed up after that, but it never felt solid screwing on to begin with. My Winchester, with the longer tube made by Choate, was more forgiving. Tube and barrel are still spread apart, but to an acceptable amount for me.

Good quality for the pric
Good quality for the price, I lined the inside of the light clamp with anti-friction tape, thus avoiding the risk of the light moving during firing of the shotgun.

i know this is a cheap mag clamp but i threw mine away. After about 3 shots out of my 870 it falls off no matter how much i tighten it!
