NEVER would I recommend this product.
I ordered this stock after hearing it's great. I was totally aware of the "minor alterations" that would be necessary to seat my Mosin properly. Unfortunately these alterations were either EXTREMELY understated or I got the "Worst Stock of the Year" edition. After over 12 hours of filing, using a dremel, etc etc. and taking other approaches, my Mosin will NOT properly seat in this stock. After further inspection, I placed it upright on the ground and noticed IT ISN'T EVEN STRAIGHT. The entire stock is visibly warped to the left as you travel toward the front of the barrel as well as providing a "see-saw" effect due to it being warped concavely as well. I would not recommend this stock at all unless you want to bring it to a gunsmith the second you open the box. Even if I was given a new ATI stock, I wouldn't take it and am personally opting for something more reliable. I understand this specific product is not "expensive" in the world of firearms, but I don't spend over $100 on anything to have it be thrown in the dumpster - and that's seemingly the only home this stock deserves. PS: ATI needs to employ significant changes in their manufacturing if this is what is supposed to pass for "quality". ***IN NO WAY IS THIS CheaperThanDirt's FAULT*** Pros: IF your gun can get seated, it's comfortable Cons: Improper Molding

Monte Carlo stock for Mosin-Nagant.
Updating old riffle. Makes it lighter and easier to shoot. More padding on the shoulder than the old stock. Pros: Very easy to install no special tools required. Cons: Can not say anything bad about this product.

Should give instructions for if it needs to be shaved
It drops in fine. However, when I try to cycle the next round it doesn't grab it. Put it back in the laminated stock and it works perfectly. I can go back to the laminated stock and shoot all five rounds or use the nice stock and fire one round at a time.

Nice Stock
It's an overall nice stock, I know a lot of people have to work with it to get a good fit, but my mosin nagant dropped right in, no work needed. Recoil with this stock is easier on the shoulder than with the original metal butt plate, good choice for an upgrade.

I bought this stock for m
I bought this stock for my 91/30 that I am in the process of updating. While it is a nice stock, it will very likely require some work on the part of the owner to make it fit properly. There is enough variation in the Mosin Nagant that your action is unlikely to simply drop in without spending some time to inlet the stock. On mine, I had to inlet the barrel channel from the tip back to the chamber, reshape the stock around the action itself so shells would eject without hitting the stock, and open up the magazine well/trigger guard area. Additionally, I had to remove a lot of flashing and seams from the molding process. It's been a lot of work, but I'm not complaining - just be aware that this stock is not a simple 'drop-in'.

This item was my first CTD purchase and it went swimmingly. Fast shipping and an excellent price. Dropped my 91/30 right in. Nice tight fit, but I will need to to a tiny bit of trimming for the bolt to close fully.
