The ELD-X makes good on its first three initials in several ways. The bullet integrates Hornady’s heatproof Heat Shield tip, which ends in a Drag Variability Reduction Technology flat meplat to optimize drag uniformity and dispersion. The ELD-X’s concentric Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket keeps it balanced, and has a streamlined secant ogive profile and boat tail for peak velocity retention. The payoff? A .315 G7, .625 G1 BC projectile that glides flat and reaches way out downrange with energy to spare.
Close-range impact is no challenge to the ELD-X, which is fortified against core/jacket separation by its InterLock ring. The bullet can easily retain upward of 90% of its weight after 400 yards, at which distance it still supplies swift, deer-dispatching terminal eXpansion.
