This ammo is not recommended for North American Arms firearms or the KelTec PMR-30. Its packaging may be labeled “.22 MRF,” which is simply another name for .22 WMR (aka .22 Magnum).
Looking for *perfect* .22 WMR hunting ammo – and something you can defend with in a pinch? Armscor USA, at your service. The Philippines’ largest ammunition manufacturer loads these rounds in Montana or Utah, and they intend them to be used for business.
This round’s 40 grain bullet is a jacketed hollow point – not a copper-plated one, but a true jacketed HP which shoots cleaner and penetrates deeper. The JHP’s nose cavity is not there for show. It stands for rapid positive expansion.
You seldom find nickel plating on rimfire cases. Addition of the metal increases manufacturing costs, BUT it also reduces friction during feeding and extraction. In addition to promoting smoother cycling, nickel makes the round easier to see in the chamber and protects it against corrosion resulting from sweat, atmospheric moisture, and tanning chemicals (e.g. the ones used to make leather holsters).
