Effective but a bit too short.
9 inches seems like an adequate length at first, and to the manufacturer’s credit, the lock quality is indeed adequate to prevent your weapon from functioning (provided you are using a revolver, tube-fed shotgun, itty bitty deep carry handgun, or a mag fed rifle/pistol with a comparatively short mag-well). Not suiteable for full-sized handguns duty carry handgund, such as a Beretta 92FS. Would definitely recommend to an new gun owner so they can practice safety protocols.
