Great Product to Practice with at Home
I have purchased a couple packs of the 12 gauge snap caps, and given a pack to my brother as a gift. They are great for practicing without firing the weapon. Nice way to train and familiarize oneself with loading and cycling shells through a pump shotgun. Also great for practicing port loads!

No complaints, these work
No complaints, these work exactly as snap caps should work. They are very durable (and heavy) due to the aluminum construction. I have an Ithaca 37 and when I was testing these, I forgot about the bottom ejection. Needless to say, heavy aluminum snap caps flying into my bare foot from several feet above don't feel very good!

It is made of SOLID ALUMI
It is made of SOLID ALUMINUM and hard anodized. Yes, it will chip at the lip due to the extractor. If you are worried about the chips then you should buy the CHROME plated one that costs twice as much, or Nickel plated 3 times more expensive, and if you want to go all out then Solid Brass is for you. This is a good economical training round for speed loading, teaching someone how to use the shotgun, and dry firing practice at home. This is much better than the plastic ones because it gives real weight and feel and lasts much better than the plastic ones.

I purchased these to practice with on a Remington 870. The arrived on time, look good, and fit well in the tube and chamber. After 3-4 times through I did notice gouges on the lip of the cap as well. However, this is more likely a product of the aluminum interfacing with the steel ejection mechanism (steel will win in the end). The anodizing job isn't the best and wear/chips off on the cap quickly. For practice however, there really isn't much better for a 12 gauge. I'd recommend these over any other practice round currently available.

Purchased two packs for dry firing my new 870 Remington Defense 12 gauge. They look pretty but after dry firing the four two times I noticed gouges on the lip cap end rim. I would not recommend this product. I will have disassemble the breach and check for damage.

Would these be appropriate to use with a semi-automatic shotgun? It's a Charles Daly AR-12. Thank you.
Answer:
Yes, these snap caps are compatible with your firearm and can be used for training purposes with a semi-automatic shotgun. Please note, this is not live ammunition.
How long are these rounds? 2 3/4?
