KA-BAR Black Fighter Knife -
The wide blade of this fighting/utility knife gives it extra strength for performing those heavy duty tasks.
Clip Blade -
The clip blade is a classic shape and very practical. Its name describes a shape that seems to have a portion of the spine of the blade clipped off. This brings the blade point lower for extra control and enhances the sharpness of the tip. It provides ample "belly" in the blade for slicing or skinning and a good tip for inserting in and under things that need to be cut. You will often find a false edge with the clip point.
Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.
Fixed Blade -
A fixed blade is a solid piece of steel, anchored to the handle without any folding mechanisms. It's durable and holds up well against the elements.
1095 Steel -
This knife is easy to sharpen, plain carbon steel used in knife making. It's proven to be one of the most popular steels used in KA-BAR knives.
Epoxy Powder Coating -
A coating process that protects blades from corrosion and also makes them non reflective.
Kraton G Thermoplastic Elastomer -
Referred to simply as Kraton, is a man made material resembling rubber that can be molded into knife handles. Knife provides a non slip grip.

Got this knife a couple o
Got this knife a couple of monthes ago and did some minor testing around the property with it. Slicing small branches, cutting some heavy plastic, etc... Worked well on everything as I expected it would. What prompted me to write a review of this knife was a camping trip I went on a couple of weeks ago. Of all the things to leave at home, I left my hatchet. I used this knife to chop, saw, and split firewood. The blade suffered no warping and the edge never chipped once. A few minutes with a medium grit wet stone while sitting around the fire at night and the edge was back to shaving sharp. If SHTF and I only had time to grab one knife it would be this one.

It might seem a little bi
It might seem a little big but it is worth it. This knife really does it all pretty well. Cutting, chopping, even finer work!!!. As with all Ka Bars this knife is VERY tough and durable. Remember you can do alot with a bigger knife and even do much of what a smaller knife can do ! When I brought this knife out into the field the first time all the guys in my team were impressed jealous or both!!! Well worth the cost
