DATREX Emergency Food Bars
Upon opening the outer shipping box I discovered The Mylar packaging containing the ration bars had a knife cut across the side. The package was compromised to the point where there was no longer a vacuum seal and there was significant slack in the packaging which confirmed the ration bars had already been exposed to the atmosphere.

Buy in person not online!
This is the second time I purchased this product and it wasn't vacuumed sealed, the employees that work in the CTD warehouse don't care how they pack the merchandise evidently and I had steel magazines packed loose with the Ration pack and it had a few pin holes in it. This has happen twice already, I recommend that you buy this product at a store where you can put hands on it rather blindly trust good shipping and handling. 1 star for CTD

A perfect addition to my survival supplies.
Sealed with a long shelf life, as well as compact and easy to store, this product makes a perfect addition to my survival supplies. Somewhat edible, but they'll keep you going, and that's the important thing. Recommended: Buy at least one for each person in your house.

They are emergency rations to sustain an individual in a life threatening situation until their circumstances change for the better. Calorie requirements are different for each individual and are also affected by exertion level, fluid intake and environmental conditions. Based on an average caloric burn of 2250 calories per person per day, this would last about 0.75 days for two people under ideal conditions. But that is not their intended use.
