I bought this scope for a
I bought this scope for a Savage 30-06 I am completely redoing as a project gun.The scope is amazing and far surpassed my expectations for one at this price range. The down fall is I have not been able to mount this device to my 30-06. In the package was sent two mounting rings that did not match. One high profile & one medium profile C-2 ring.I contacted Leapers.com by telephone and told them of my experience. They appeared concerned, but 'never heard of such a thing' and told me to fill out on line form so they could send a replacement ring. I did as instructed, and have gotten nothing but a run around. Looks like if I want to mount the scope that I will have to go to my favorite gun shop and buy a good set.. At this point it would have been better to have bought a higher priced brand name scope and not have had the hassles, and added waist of time & money.

The rings that come with
The rings that come with the scopes are junk. Throw them away. The scope performs as good as much more expensive brands.I use this brand on 300wmg down to 223 and they perform flawlessly. From 100 yds out to 800 yds the turrets are precise. The only flaw, in my opinion, is the clarity at 400 and beyond. For the price no other brand can touch it

First, I need to say this
First, I need to say this was my first scope. My wife got it for me and I love it. Don't know what the other guy that reviewed the scope was talking about. I didn't bore sight it before I went. I had my Marine brother-in-law help me set it in the rings just right so I could mount it and started shooting. Let me remind you that your scope comes with instructions for a reason - READ THEM! I put one 30 rnd mag of Monarch brass 55gr fmjbt in my Rock River Elite Operator 2 and that was more than I needed. Weather was 41 degrees, 42% humidity, with 16mph wind gusts. My first round was a foot and a half low and eight inches or so left. It took me four more three round groups to have it dialed in. I then had a blast putting three rounds inside one square inch, with a round every now and then slipping 1/2 inch or so outside that. Give me a break - it was a little breezy, and that was at 100 yards. Gaining clarity with the side wheel adjustment is simple. Colored reticle is really cool but red and green would have been enough. Everything was awesome with my gift, I'm very pleased! Don't be afraid to try this. I was a little, but am very pleased with my wife's choice. I'm glad I showed it to her!

After trying to get this
After trying to get this scope sighted/settled in over two 6-hour range periods, two sets of rings, three different types of ammo (ranging from cheap to good), and some intense bench-maintenance time, I never got it where it should have been (1-2 inch groups @ 100 yds). IuFFFDll be returning it. Pros: lots of nice, mostly useful features; inexpensive compared to other scopes of similar magnification and features; light gathering is generally good. Cons: clarity is very good from 4-7x magnification, but above 7x magnification, undergoes some unusual distortion that seems to be the result of uneven or poorly ground lenses. Distortion gets progressively worse from 7-16x magnification, but is still clear enough to ID and shoot at 16x (only just). Additionally, it has an uneven halo effect that seems to be associated with the uneven blur and distortion. Adjusting the focus moves distortion and blur around the FOV, but does not improve it. The eyepiece was mounted off angle. While it didn't affect function, it was off enough to be immediately noticeable. Clearly a QC issue and, unfortunately, is not something that can be user fixed without violating the integrity of the scope. Neutral points: field of view is good at or below 7x magnification, but coupled with the unusual distortion at higher magnifications, makes the scope less than pleasant to use; it's big, which is a con, but for the magnification range and FOV, it is to be expected; I donuFFFDt use illumination much, but even if I did, I wouldnuFFFDt have use for 36 colors. It seems to be more of an advertising point than a useful feature.Unknown: zero. I was never able to get this scope zeroed in. Difficult to tell if it was the scope or some other problem, but I spent enough time tweaking and tuning the rifle to suspect it was the scope. I did get the pattern to improve by 50% after switching rings, but it was still a 10-12 inch pattern at only 100 yds. After much more fiddling, tuning, and tweaking the rifle, s
